Brownie Points scores in Ouija Board Pin Oak Stable's homebred BROWNIE POINTS (Forest Wildcat) launched her rally on the far turn and closed boldly through the stretch to capture Monday's $200,000 Ouija Board Distaff H. (G3) at Lone Star Park. A six-time stakes winner entering the race, the Donnie Von Hemel-trained mare notched her first graded win in convincing fashion, drawing off to a 1 3/4-length decision under Luis Quinonez. The five-year-old completed a mile on the firm turf in 1:35 4/5. Sent off the 4-1 second choice, Brownie Points paid $10, $5.40 and $3. The front-running Tears I Cry (Chester House), who prompted early splits in :23 3/5 and :47 3/5 before assuming command, hit the seven-furlong mark in 1:23 3/5 with a 2 1/2-length advantage and easily held second after being passed by the winner. She gave back $13.20 and $5 at 12-1. Costume (GB) (Danehill), the even-money favorite, suffered an adventurous trip, traveling wide on both turns before being steadied at the sixteenth pole, and came on late to get up for third, a nose better than the 11-1 Candy Ball (Lemon Drop Kid). Show returned $2.20, and the exotics yielded: $93.60 (exacta), $343.60 (trifecta) and $1,789 (11-6-10-9 superfecta). Emma Grace (Dreamfield), Forest Melody (Forest Camp), My Three Sisters (Defrere), Super Freaky (Smart Strike), Barbette (High Yield), Buddha Lady (Buddha), and Elliecat (Crafty Prospector) rounded out the order of finish. The Kentucky-bred winner is out of the multiple stakes-placed Stylish Society (Forty Niner), who is the dam of the unraced three-year-old colt Social Justice (Silver Deputy) and unraced two-year-old colt Stylish Mon (Maria's Mon). She hails from stakes victress Northern Style (Ack Ack) and is a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 victress and Grade 1 runner-up Stylish Star (Our Native). Brownie Points earned her first stakes victory in the 2005 Cimarron S. and captured the Marie P. DeBartolo Oaks, Stonerside S., Remington Park Oaks and Martha Washington S. the following season. Winner of the 2007 Iowa Distaff S., the chestnut finished second in last year's edition of the Ouija Board and owns nine other stakes placings. She was exiting a runner-up finish in the Apple Blossom H. (G1). Brownie Points has now earned $806,309 from a 22-8-7-3 line.
