Tom R. Durant's SING BABY SING (Unbridled's Song) rallied down the center of the track to take Saturday's $242,000 Phoenix S. (G3) at Keeneland by three parts of a length while making his graded debut. The Jack Bruner-trained five-year-old broke a four-race seconditis streak with this score under regular rider Justin Shepherd, completing the six-furlong test in 1:08 2/5.

Last year's Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) third-placer Talent Search (Catienus), who was entering this one off a more than 10-month break following a runner-up effort in the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash S. (G1), was nonetheless sent off the 8-5 favorite in the 10-horse field and quickly moved to the front when the gates opened. Setting splits of :21 2/5, :43 4/5 and :55 4/5, the chestnut showed the way while being chased by Semaphore Man (Formal Gold) to his outside and Sing Baby Sing stalking in third.

Talent Search kicked into overdrive entering the stretch as Semaphore Man moved up to challenge on the outside. Putting that one away, he appeared clear for a brief moment, but suddenly found Sing Baby Sing making up ground down the lane. The eventual winner overhauled the long-time leader to return $55.20, $17 and $9.20 as the 26-1 second longest shot in the field.

Talent Search held well to take second by a neck off the long vacation, paying $3.60 and $2.80 while ending the $192.20 exacta. Carnacks Choice (Carson City) rallied from next to last for third, giving back $5.60 at 9-1 and completing the $2,349.80 trifecta. Disfunction (Vying Victor) ran in fourth for much of the race and finished in that spot to round out the $10,685.85 superfecta (1-5-9-2). Completing the order under the wire were Legal Move (Bold Executive), Noonmark (Unbridled's Song), Semaphore Man, Emirates to Dubai (Storm Cat), Nakayama Arashi (Is It True) and Pictural (El Prado [Ire]). Ravalo (Mutakddim) and Greeley's Conquest (Mr. Greeley) were both withdrawn.

Sing Baby Sing has spent the majority of his career racing in the Midwest, racking up wins in the Bob Johnson Memorial S. at Lone Star Park and the Remington Park Sprint Championship S. His past four races all came in stakes and resulted in a quartet of runner-up efforts, starting with the Governor's Cup S. in his 2007 finale at Remington Park and ending last out in the Premier H. at Zia Park. With this first graded score, Sing Baby Sing has now accumulated $399,620 in lifetime earnings to go along with his 17-7-6-0 record.

Bred in Kentucky by Classicstar, Sing Baby Sing is out of multiple stakes winner Roll Over Baby (Rolling On Over), who has also produced Grade 3 hero Roll Hennessy Roll (Hennessy) and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Majorbigtimesheet (Carson City). Sing Baby Sing can also count as full siblings multiple Grade 1 runner-up and stakes victor Value Plus and multiple Grade 2-placed Werblin.
