Black Caviar entered off one-week's rest in Lightning Reasoning that she'd need strong work over 1000 meters, race or no race, trainer Peter Moody has entered undefeated Black Caviar for Saturday's Group 1 Coolmore Lightning Stakes up the 1000-meter straight course at Flemington. Cutting back in trip a week after her victory in the Group 1 C. F. To run her unbeaten streak to 19, the supermare will need to dispose of Hay List, whom she defeated by 3 1/4 lengths in last year's Lightning Stakes and who has played bridesmaid to Black Caviar a total of three time. The Statue of Liberty gelding has an excellent record of three wins from five starts when first-up and is quoted as $9 (8-1) second choice on TAB Sportsbet. Foxwedge is a distant third choice in the wagering, but is widely regarded as a sneaky chance Saturday. Three of his four career victories have come when he's been first-up, and the son of Fastnet Rock was last seen finishing a bang-up second to top-class Sepoy in the Group 1 Coolmore Stakes going this course and distance late last October.
