Two juveniles breeze in :10 at OBS under tack

The fastest times for an eighth-mile were set late in the first session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, which will be held in Ocala, Florida, from April 21-24. Each session is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. (EDT).

A bay filly by Stormin Fever and a bay colt by Yes It's True each worked a furlong in :10.

The filly, consigned by Sequel Bloodstock (Becky Thomas), agent as Hip No. 314, is out of the multiple stakes-placed mare First Class Donna (Taylor's Special). The 17-year-old mare is a half-sibling to five stakes-winning or stakes-placed runners, including 1992 Maryland Million Sprint H. hero Charlie You Know (Horatius) and four-time stakes victor Rockabye Joshua (Rock Talk). The Pennsylvania-bred two-year-old sold for $20,000 as a Keeneland September yearling.

Niall Brennan Stables, agent, consigned the Yes It's True colt, who is entered as Hip 342. He is the first registered foal out of the stakes-winning Frenchglen (Forestry), who was third in the 2004 Forward Gal S. (G2) and is a half-sister to Dr. Nick (Authenticate), runner-up in last season's Bashford Manor S. (G3). The bay colt brought $52,000 at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

TRIPLE HONOR (Double Honor), consigned as Hip 163 by Blue River Bloodstock, agent, recorded the quickest two-furlong move in :21. The dark bay colt is out of the winning Cool Grades (Honor Grades), who counts stakes winner and 1984 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) third-placer Fine Spirit (Secretariat) as a half-sister, and brought $17,000 as an OBS August yearling.

Just three hips later, MS DRAMA QUEEN (Valid Expectations) posted the fastest three-eighths in :33 4/5. Selling for $9,000 as a Keeneland January yearling, the dark bay lass is the first registered foal out of Copy Queen (Souvenir Copy) and comes from the same family as 2003 Canadian champion turf horse and Grade 1 winner Perfect Soul (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) as well as 1971 Canadian champion two-year-old colt Gentleman Conn (Bold Commander).

The second under tack show is set to get underway at 9 a.m. on Wednesday with Hips 347-690 breezing.
