Rahy pensioned Officials at Robert Clay's Three Chimneys Farm have announced that RAHY (Blushing Groom [Fr]), the sire of 82 black-type winners including champions Fantastic Light, Serena's Song and Dreaming of Anna, has been pensioned from stud duties due to declining fertility. Rahy will remain at Three Chimneys throughout his retirement. Campaigned by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al Maktoum and trained in Europe by Sir Michael Stoute, he won the listed Sirenia S. and was second in the Middle Park S. (Eng-G1) at two. A winner of one of three starts during his sophomore season, he came to the United States in 1988, and posted a 10-length victory in the Bel Air H. (G2) and was runner-up in the Goodwood H. (G3) and Harold C. Ramser Sr. H. (G3) at four the following year. Bred by Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Kentucky, the chestnut was out of Canadian Hall of Famer Glorious Song (Halo), a full sister to champion Devil's Bag and leading sire Saint Ballado. Glorious Song also produced champion and noted sire Singspiel (Ire) (In The Wings [Ire]). "Rahy is one of the most important stallions we've had," said Case Clay, president of Three Chimneys. "Not only was standing him a great opportunity for Three Chimneys, but it allowed us to begin a very enjoyable and successful partnership with the Maktoum family. While it's too bad Rahy won't have anymore crops going forward, we're excited to have his son Lewis Michael here to carry on his legacy."
