Harlan's Holiday colt tops Fasig-Tipton sale at $300,000 A Harlan's Holiday colt out of the unraced Keep it Going (Yankee Victor) brought a $300,000 bid from Nick DeMeric, agent, at Tuesday's final session of the Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearling Sale at Timonium, Maryland. Offered from the consignment of Paramount Sales, agent, the Kentucky-bred toured the ring as Hip No. 473. Keep it Going, out of the multiple stakes-winning Harlan Honey (Silver Hawk), is a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade 2-placed Impending Bear (Farma Way) and the Grade 3-placed Siphon Honey (Siphon [Brz]). The sale-topper was previously a $150,000 Keeneland November weanling. The highest-selling filly of the sale was STEAL THE DANCE (Tapit), who was offered as Hip 639. Sally Thomas, agent, consigned the gray who went to Cary Frommer, agent, for $182,000. Produced from Purloin (Forest Wildcat), a half-sister to the Irish Group 3-placed stakes winner Pirate of Penzance (Southern Halo), the February 1 Kentucky-bred is from the family of multiple Grade 2 winner and sire Caller I. D. (Phone Trick). Becky Davis, agent, consigned a Not for Love colt that attracted $120,000 from Jay Em Ess Stable. The Maryland-bred sported Hip 446. Produced from the stakes-winning Indian Head Penny (Waquoit), the February 11 foal is a half-sister to the stakes-winning Headsandtales (Tale of the Cat). This is the family of stakes winner and 1992 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) runner-up It'sali'lknownfact (Known Fact). The sale concluded Tuesday with 385 yearlings selling for $5,611,950. There was one fewer day of selling compared to last year's sale, which resulted in a decline in gross of 31.7 percent. In 2008, 483 yearlings brought $8,211,600 over three days.
