Hidden Dragon colt leads the way at Magic Millions A colt by Hidden Dragon topped the proceedings on the second day of the Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale on Australia's Gold Coast Thursday. Singapore trainer Don Baertschiger went to A$110,000 to secure Hip 358, who worked a furlong in :10.73 during Monday's breeze show. Consigned by Victoria's Centaur Park Thoroughbreds, the dark bay is out of Donnatelle (Black Zephyr), making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Don't Tell Clang (Clang). "He's a really nice colt," Baertschiger said. "He impressed me in his breeze up -- he had a lovely action. He should really be suited to our style of racing in Singapore." The Centaur team provided five of the top eight-priced horses Thursday, including a pair of colts who brought A$80,000 from Baertschiger. The first through the ring was Hip 302, a colt by Dane Shadow, and the second was Hip 361, who is by Al Samer. The top-priced filly on the afternoon was Hip 378, a filly by Street Cry (Ire) out of Genalta (General Nediym). Offered by Epsom Lodge, the juvenile was purchased by Laurence Eales for A$85,000. At the conclusion of day two, a total of A$2,771,00 was traded on 131 youngsters at an average of A$21,153. The clearance rate was 74 percent. "I'm rapt with the final figures for both sessions," Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said. "We worked hard in attracting a big buying bench to the Gold Coast and we were rewarded with really positive results."
