Fasig-Tipton has assembled a star-studded cast of 180 selected entries for
Monday's November Sale. Held at its Newtown Paddocks headquarters near
Lexington, Kentucky, the single-session sale will get underway at 5 p.m. (EST).This year's catalog features reigning Horse of the Year HAVRE DE GRACE (Saint
Liam); last year's champion female sprinter MUSICAL ROMANCE (Concorde's Tune);
and Friday's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine ZAGORA (Green Tune), who
likely clinched a divisional Eclipse Award.
Among the high-profile producers on offer are ARCH'S GAL EDITH (Arch) and
UNTOUCHED TALENT (Storm Cat)-- respectively the dams of I'll Have Another and
Bodemeister, the brilliant colts that ran first and second in this year's
Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
Several entrants received catalog updates from relatives over Breeders' Cup
weekend: the broodmare COURTING ELAINE (Doneraile Court), a half-sister to
record-setting Mile winner and Horse of the Year candidate Wise Dan; the
broodmare PONCHE DE LEONA (Ponche), whose son Mucho Macho Man missed narrowly in
the Classic; the broodmare BELLA DORATO (Goldminers Gold), whose son Trinniberg
captured the Sprint; the broodmare prospect VERSAILLES SONG (Unbridled's Song),
a half-sister to Juvenile Turf victor George Vancouver; the broodmare REFUGEE
(Unaccounted For), whose daughter Executiveprivilege ran second in the Juvenile
Fillies; Executiveprivilege's half-sister, the racing/broodmare prospect PROFIT
(Not for Love); and the broodmare MINI CHAT (Deputy Minister), the dam of Filly
& Mare Sprint fifth-placer Rumor, along with Rumor's weanling full sister.
|
A number just competed in Friday's Filly & Mare Sprint -- runner-up DUST AND
DIAMONDS (Vindication), third-placer SWITCH (Quiet American), fourth BELLE OF
THE HALL (Graeme Hall) and Musical Romance, who was sixth in her title defense.

relative of Rumor's who was ninth in her turf debut in the Filly & Mare Turf. The bumper crop of Grade 1 winners in the sale also includes CONTESTED (Ghostzapper),
EDEN'S MOON (Malibu Moon), EMMA'S ENCORE (Congrats), HOME SWEET ASPEN (Candy
Ride), KILLER GRACES (Congaree), LOVE THEWAY YOUARE (Arch), SASSY IMAGE (Broken
Vow), TAPITSFLY (Tapit).
Grade 1-winning broodmares CRY AND CATCH ME (Street Cry), a half-sister to
presumptive English champion two-year-old filly Certify; C S. SILK (Medaglia
d'Oro); and HOT CHA CHA (Cactus Ridge) are likewise cataloged.
|
Other notable lots include AFLEETING LADY (Afleet Alex), a half-sister to
Shackleford who recently took the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm; BRUSHED BY A STAR
(Eddington), who prevailed in this past Saturday's Grade 2 Chilukki; GYPSY ROBIN
(Daaher), winner of the Grade 2 Raven Run since the catalog; and POTESTA (Macho
Uno), who romped to a Del Mar track record in the Torrey Pines before suffering
a career-ending injury.

Besides the selected racing and broodmare prospects and in-foal mares, 58
selected foals are also cataloged."This sale has established itself as a can't-miss event for the international
Thoroughbred community," Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning said upon the
release of the catalog, "and we expect to attract buyers from many parts of the
world with this stellar catalog.
"You will rarely find, in one place and at one time, such a concentration of
pedigrees and high quality race or production records."
Fasig-Tipton is offering the "Enhanced Online Catalog" for the November Sale
for the second consecutive year on the company's
website.
First debuted prior to the 2011 November Sale, the Enhanced Catalog consists
of individual web pages for each offering in the sale. Designed as a complement
to the sale's print catalog, it provides all pedigree and race record updates
that have occurred since the publishing of the print catalog, as well as
additional resources of value to prospective buyers.
|
Information featured on Enhanced Catalog pages includes updated pedigrees,
updated past performances, race replays, links to news articles about each
offering, consignor contact information, and in the case of weanlings, a link to
its sire's Stallion Register page. The site also features a landing page for
each consignor that provides an index for their entire consignment.
The Enhanced Catalog can be accessed via a mobile phone, tablet or desktop
computer.
As part of the Enhanced Catalog, each page in the print catalog is equipped
with a QR (Quick Response) Code in the bottom corner, which can be scanned via a
Smart Phone app. The user will be immediately linked to that horse's Enhanced
Catalog page, where all information on the page can be accessed. It provides a
convenient way for buyers to access any updated information on a sales entrant
that has occurred since the print catalog was published.
"We're very pleased to once again offer this technology as a valuable
complement to our print catalogue," said Max Hodge, director of client services.
"Each year, the November Sale features a special group of horses, and at this
busy time of year on the racing calendar, the race records and pedigrees of
these sale entrants are constantly changing.
"The Enhanced Catalog provides a wonderful platform for consignors to
showcase these vital updates, as well as offering our prospective buyers
up-to-date information to aid them in their purchasing decisions."
