Puddifoot, Elusive Quality colt sizzle in :9 4/5 at OBS under tack

Two youngsters worked eighths in :9 4/5, posting the fastest works at the distance at the second session of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2013 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age.

Hip No. 258, PUDDIFOOT, consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, was the first to blaze the eighth-mile time. The gray filly by Red Giant is out of Grade 3 winner Theresa's Tizzy (Cee's Tizzy) and counts as half-siblings Grade 3 victor Got the Last Laugh (Distorted Humor) and dual stakes-placed Lotto Ticket (Invisible Ink).

A bay colt by Elusive Quality, consigned as Hip 338 by SAB Sales (Scott A. Bergsrud), agent, followed with the same time. The Kentucky-bred is out of Agatha (Distorted Humor), who is a half-sister to Japanese champion Hishi Akebono (Woodman) and multiple Group 1-winning sire Agnes World (Danzig).

A trio of youngsters shared honors for the session's fastest quarter, getting the distance in :20 3/5.

First up was Hip 335, a chestnut filly by More Than Ready consigned by Hoppel's Horse & Cattle Co. The New York-bred miss is out of African Skyline (Saint Ballado) and counts as her third dam multiple Grade 1 queen Heatherten (Forceten).

Hip 377, a bay filly by Congrats consigned by Southern Chase Farm Inc. (Greg & Karen Dodd), agent, got the same time for a quarter. The Indiana-bred is out of stakes-placed Beauty for Ashes (City Place) and a half-sister to stakes winner Putyourdreamsaway (Put It Back).

A bay colt by Exclusive Quality, consigned as Hip 461 by de Meric Sales, agent, wrapped up the trio of quick quarter-mile workers. The Florida-bred is out of Dash Home (Two Punch) and comes from the same female line as 1975 Belmont winner and sire Avatar (Graustark) as well as 1988 French Derby (Fr-G1) hero Hours After (Alleged).

CHEERS OF THUNDER, consigned as Hip 266 by Blue River Bloodstock, agent, worked the session's fastest three-eighths, stopping the timer in :33 1/5. The bay Circular Quay colt is out of the unraced Trail of Cheers (Indian Charlie), and his third dam produced multiple Grade 2-scorer and track record-setting sire Crafty Friend (Crafty Prospector).

Under Tack results and videos are posted on the OBS website. The Under Tack Show concludes Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. (EDT) with Hips 501-748 scheduled to breeze.

The OBS June sale will take place Tuesday, with Hips 1-370 entering the ring, and Wednesday, featuring Hips 371-748. Each session will begin at 10:30 a.m.
