Twin Spires 'Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever' will be held November 29 TwinSpires.com is again offering horseplayers a unique opportunity to qualify for a spot in the 2009 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Championship (NHC) by competing on their home computer in the second annual "TwinSpires.com Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever" on November 29. The top 15 finishers in the online tournament will be guaranteed spots in the field for the NHC on January 23-24 at Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, with the top finisher in the TwinSpires.com tournament earning a guaranteed prize of $10,000. The total number of qualifying spots for the 10th DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship is the largest offered by any handicapping tournament. In addition, five horseplayers in "Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever" will earn spots in the 2009 Horseplayer World Series, which is scheduled for February 19-21 at The Orleans casino in Las Vegas. The "TwinSpires.com Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever" will be conducted through TwinSpires.com and participants may register at www.twinspires.com. The entry fee is $250 and the field is limited to 550 entries. "Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever" entrants are being accepted on a "first come, first served" basis. The Biggest Vegas Qualifier will also offer members of the NTRA's new National Handicapping Championship Tour an opportunity to earn maximum tour points. "Last year's 'Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever' was sold out well in advance, and this year's field of 550 horseplayers for our online tournament is filling up quickly," said Jeremy Clemons, vice president of Marketing for TwinSpires.com. "The strong response to last year's inaugural event and next week's online tournament reflects the strength of the demand for this type of online competition. It offers a great opportunity for horseplayers to earn coveted spots in these premier handicapping tournaments -- and they don't have to travel any farther than their home computer to do so." The "TwinSpires.com Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever" will again be structured in the traditional win/place format on a set number of mandatory races for all contestants. Brisnet Director of Marketing Rich Nilsen, a veteran of handicapping contests, will serve as tournament director. Brisnet will offer special handicapping information on the races selected for the tournament to all horseplayers entered in the competition. Customers may open a TwinSpires account and wager through their TwinSpires accounts online at www.twinspires.com or via telephone by dialing 1-877-SPIRES-1 (1-877-774-7371). After an initial $50 deposit to open a TwinSpires account, there is no minimum deposit amount. Customers may deposit funds into their TwinSpires accounts at any time via their phone, the TwinSpires Web site or postal mail.
