Lecomte undercard features five supporting stakes

While the Kentucky Derby (G1) aspirants in Saturday's Lecomte S. (G3) will be the cynosure of all eyes on the "Road to the Derby" Kickoff Day at Fair Grounds, five other action-packed stakes will also be on tap.

In the $75,000 Tiffany Lass S., the three-year-old fillies' answer to the Lecomte, Delta Princess S. (G3) winner FOUR GIFTS (Even the Score) will clash with the undefeated SELVA (Forest Wildcat), who comes off scores in the Glorious Song S. and Sorority S. The small but select field of five set for the mile affair also includes Brandywine S. romper JUST JENDA (Menifee), an uncharacteristic fifth in the Delta Princess last out.

Ten older horses will square off in the $100,000 Colonel E.R. Bradley H. (G3) at about 1 1/16 grassy miles. Among the top threats are multiple stakes victor GOLDEN YANK (Yankee Gentleman), runner-up in the Jefferson Cup (G2) in his last try on the turf; Canadian stakes hero WINDWARD ISLANDS (Cozzene), who drops in both class and trip off a sixth in the W.L. McKnight H. (G2); and CLASSIC CAMPAIGN (Rahy) and WISE RIVER (Belong to Me), the respective one-two finishers from the off-the-turf Buddy Diliberto Memorial H. here.

PROM SHOES (Include) and the well-bred TEND (Dynaformer) are cross-entered to both the Bradley and the $75,000 Louisiana H. at 1 1/16 miles on the main track. The favorite in the Louisiana figures to be HONEST MAN (Unbridled's Song) from the Larry Jones barn. A convincing winner of the Philip H. Iselin S. (G3) two back, the dark bay returns to dirt after finishing fourth in the Kentucky Cup Classic (G2) at Turfway in his synthetic debut. Jones will also send out STONES RIVER (Monarchos), who was a distant fifth to SECRET GETAWAY (Skip Away) in the Tenacious H. at this track and trip last time out. Seven-year-old veteran REAL DANDY (Yankee Victor), third to SILVER LORD (Unbridled's Song) and Prom Shoes in the 2008 Louisiana, should move forward off his comeback in the Tenacious.

The $75,000 Dr. A.B. Leggio Memorial S. has attracted a field of 13 distaffers, including two main-track-only entrants. KALOOKAN DANCER (Olympio), SHE'S INDY MONEY (A.P. Indy), CLASSIFY (Unbridled's Song), COCKTAIL ATTIRE (Distorted Humor) and GAME N LAUGHIN' (Distorted Humor) rate as prime contenders in the about 5 1/2-furlong turf dash.

DEVEREUX (Forestry) and ROI MAUDIT (Elusive Quality), who filled the minor placings behind Sok Sok (Trippi) in the Thanksgiving H., will meet again in the $75,000 F.W. Gaudin Memorial S. going six furlongs. Of their four opponents, the most intriguing are Churchill allowance winners LANZERA (Montbrook) and MUTADDA (Mutakddim).
