The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) was an option for Godolphin's
FLASHING (A.P. Indy) following her respectable third-place effort in the Presque
Isle Downs Masters S. (G3), but her connections are already well-represented
with Seventh Street (Street Cry [Ire]) and Sara Louise (Malibu Moon) and opted
to keep the Test S. (G1) winner with three-year-old fillies in Saturday's
$300,000
Raven Run S. (G2) at Keeneland. The Saeed bin Suroor trainee heads a field
of 16, including two also-eligibles, in the seven-furlong event on Polytrack.
Flashing broke her maiden at Aqueduct and captured a pair of
allowance/optional claiming events before winning her graded stakes debut, the
Nassau County S. (G3), in early May. She was no match for Rachel Alexandra
(Medaglia d'Oro) in the 1 1/8-mile Mother Goose S. (G1) next time out, but
successfully cut back to seven furlongs in the Test at Saratoga, recording a 1
1/4-length decision. The chestnut offered a good rally for third, three lengths
back of top Filly & Mare Sprint contender Informed Decision (Monarchos), when
making her synthetic bow in the Presque Isle Downs Masters, and the 123-pound
highweight will keep Richard Migliore in the saddle on Saturday.
Trainer Larry Jones, who is poised to retire on November 8, will look to go
out a winner with his final Keeneland stakes runner when he saddles JUST JENDA
(Menifee). Winner of the Monmouth Oaks (G3) and Honeybee S. (G3) this season,
the chestnut earned a field-best 105 BRIS Speed rating in the former, but she's
never raced over a synthetic track. The hard-hitting filly (11-6-1-2 overall
record) will keep regular rider Gabriel Saez up.
