So Many Ways will bypass Breeders' Cup

Undefeated two-year-old filly So Many Ways, winner of the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes and Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes, will not travel to California to run in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, it was announced Wednesday.

"I have struggled with the decision of whether or not we should push her as she continues to grow and mature for the thrill of running in the Breeders' Cup," owner Maggi Moss said. "After great deliberation, I have weighed what is in her best interest, versus my chance to compete at Santa Anita and decided it is simply pushing her too hard."

So Many Ways will head to the sidelines for the rest of 2012.

The Sightseeing filly captured her career debut, a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Parx Racing, by eight lengths on June 9. So Many Ways traveled to Saratoga for her next two wins, posting a 1 1/2-length score in the July 20 Schuylerville at six furlongs and a 2 1/2-length tally in the September 2 Spinaway at seven furlongs. Trained by Tony Dutrow, the bay Pennsylvania-bred has bankrolled $307,800 for her efforts.

"One of the great things this filly did was bring me together with Tony and Kim Dutrow," Moss continued. "They have done an amazing job with her. I think we are doing the right thing for the filly.  She's already given me the thrill of a lifetime and I look forward to what I hope is a great three-year-old campaign with her next year."

So Many Ways will be turned out at Dutrow's barn at Fair Hills Training Center in Elkton, Maryland.  She will join Dutrow at Palm Meadows Training Center this winter, where she will resume training for a possible next start at Gulfstream Park.
