Barbaro update - Wednesday Kentucky Derby (G1) winner BARBARO (Dynaformer) was in excellent condition as of 3 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday. The three-year-old colt is stable and happy, according to Dr. Dean W. Richardson, chief of surgery at the George D. Widener Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Barbaro underwent a lengthy operation on Sunday to repair multiple fractures in his right hind leg, which he sustained during the early stages of Saturday's Preakness S. (G1).
