Reinstedler trainees one-two in Juvenile Lucky Seven Stable's homebred U D GHETTO (Honour and Glory) took the lead turning for home and held stablemate Shermanesque (Fusaichi Pegasus) at bay in the lane to win in the $100,000 Kentucky Cup Juvenile S. (G3) by 1 1/4 lengths over Turfway's Polytrack on Saturday. Breaking alertly beneath Mike Smith, the two-year-old gelding raced just off the pace while wide before putting in his winning run, completing the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43 4/5. Sent off at 17-1, the winner gave back healthy prices of $37.60, $15.40 and $7.40 while keying the $207.60 exacta, $2,543.20 trifecta and $7,733 superfecta (12-8-11-9). Shermanesque rated in midpack early before making a big run on the outside, only to fall short in the latter stages. The 3-1 second choice paid $4.80 and $3. Son of the West (Gone West) was in the four path for virtually the entire race and did well to earn the show spot, paying $6 at 8-1. Izzie's Halo (Halo's Image), the 2-1 favorite, set the pace to the stretch but could do no better than finishing off the superfecta. Indian Camp (Forest Camp) was next and trailed by Nerve (Tour d'Or), Native Ruler (Elusive Quality), Beta Capo (Langfuhr), Kon Krete Kid (Jump Start), Hey Bill (Devil's Bag), Out of the Skip (Stormin Fever) and Shore (Sea of Secrets). Also-eligibles Starbase (Tale of the Cat) and Glamour Guy (E Dubai) were scratched. U D Ghetto ran his mark to 4-2-1-1 with a bankroll of $80,320. This was the stakes debut for the Kentucky-bred freshman, who was exiting a third-place finish over this surface. He was produced from the unraced Legend of Seattle (Silver Hawk).
