Frankel duo commands respect in Palomar

Bobby Frankel is represented by the two draws in Saturday's $250,000 Palomar H. (G2), PRECIOUS KITTEN (Catienus) and PRICE TAG (GB) (Dansili [GB]), but the Hall of Fame conditioner has indicated that only one will start. Ten fillies and mares were entered for the 1 1/16-mile turf affair at Del Mar.

Precious Kitten exits a smashing score in the John C. Mabee H. (G1) earlier in the meet, sitting just off the pace before pouncing for the 1 1/2-length decision, and the four-year-old owns a commendable 5-2-3-0 mark this season. She recorded an excellent second in the CashCall Mile Invitational S. (G2) at Hollywood Park two starts back and captured the Gallorette H. (G3) at Pimlico three starts ago. Isaias Enriquez is named aboard Precious Kitten, but Julien Leparoux, who is listed on Price Tag, is expected to ride whichever Frankel runner starts.

Price Tag is slated to give one pound to her stablemate as the 123-pound highweight. Winner of the Matriarch S. (G1) in her American debut last November, the four-year-old mare finished a close second in the Gamely Breeders' Cup S. (G1) prior to her third-place finish in the CashCall Mile last out. The chestnut shows a 2-1-1 mark in four U.S. starts.

KRIS' SIS (Forestry) will enter the Palomar off a smart tally in the July 21 Osunitas H., and the Julio Canani trainee is two-for-two over the Jimmy Durante Turf Course. New Zealand import BLACK MAMBA (NZ) (Black Minnaloushe) will step up to the graded level following a nice win over allowance rivals at Del Mar; stakes victress DREAM'S (Chi) (Sam M.), unraced since a second in January's Tuzla H., is three-for-three over the local turf; and Beverly Hills H. (G2) runner-up ANDREA (NZ) (Danasinga) are also in the line-up.

Stakes queen SHERMEEN (Ire) (Desert Style) will lead the post parade under a 114-pound impost that includes Victor Espinoza. They'll be followed by CLINET (Ire) (Docksider), Alex Solis, 114; Black Mamba, Tyler Baze, 112; Precious Kitten; Price Tag; Dream's, Mike Smith, 116; Andrea, Richard Migliore, 112; BRANCA COMO NEVE (Brz) (Ski Champ), Joseph Talamo, 112; Kris' Sis, Michael Baze, 115; and I CAN SEE (Flying Chevron), Jon Court, 114.
