Oprah Winney to be featured on 'The
Oprah Winfrey Show'

BC Filly & Mare Sprint contender Oprah Winney could gain a whole new legion of fans by appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show"

OPRAH WINNEY (Royal Academy), winner of the Barbara Fritchie Breeders' Cup H.
(G2) earlier this year, will be featured on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on
October 23. Oprah Winfrey will pay tribute to her almost namesake the week of
the Breeders' Cup, just three days before the gray filly takes part in the
inaugural running of the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint on October
26 at Monmouth Park.Oprah Winney's victory in the Schenectady H. is expected to be included in
the segment, as well as footage from Aqueduct, where she is based with trainer
Richard Dutrow. Scenes from the 2006 Breeders' Cup are also scheduled to be
shown.
The
four-year-old lass will enter the six-furlong Filly & Mare Sprint off a two-race win streak,
taking the Regret S. and Schenectady in her past two. She's finished off the
board only once in her entire 14-race career, that coming as a fourth in the
2006 Ruthless S., and was second in the Vagrancy H. (G2) and third in the
Distaff Breeders' Cup H. (G2) this season.
