You asked for it, and we've responded! Effective March 1st 2001, BRISnet will offer a NEW daily unlimited pricing rate for each BRISnet PDF Past Performance product.
Players that like to use BRISnet's popular, new Custom Card feature or those that play several tracks per day will find this ideal for their past performance needs. The NEW daily unlimited pricing rate allows you to get unlimited tracks on the same racedate for one low, economical rate. Of course, BRISnet's regular "per track/per day" rates remain unchanged.
Here's how it works:
To illustrate one example, let's say your Custom Card Ultimate PP file contains one race from AQU, five races from OP, and seven races from SA; given that scenario, you would be charged for three tracks ($9.00 regular, $4.50 Silver). Add races from one or more tracks to that customized Ultimate PP file, and you would fall into the ulimited daily rate ($10 Regular, $6.00 Silver).
Regular Silver Gold PREMIUM PLUS PPs....Per trk/per day $1.00 $1.00 $ 1.00 Unlimited tracks same racedate* $4.00 $4.00 $ 4.00 CONDENSED PPs.......Per trk/per day $1.00 $1.00 $ 1.00 Unlimited tracks same racedate* $4.00 $4.00 $ 4.00 QUICKPLAY PPs.......Per trk/per day $ 2.00 $1.50 $ 1.00 Unlimited tracks same racedate* $10.00 $6.00 $ 6.00 ULTIMATE PPs........Per trk/per day $ 3.00 $1.50 $ 1.00 Unlimited tracks same racedate* $10.00 $6.00 $ 6.00 * Maximum daily chargeThere is no additonal charge for using BRISnet's Custom Card feature. Standard PDF Past Performance charges are applied for Custom Card. Regardless of the number of races used at any track, you will be charged the normal "Per track/per day" rate for each track included in your Custom Card(s), but never charged more than the maximum daily charge (for tracks with the same racedate).

Remember that printer you bought? Let me refresh your memory. You splurged on the 750 Mhz Pentium III computer, the 21-inch flat screen monitor, and to save a little money, you bought the bargain basement printer. Why get an expensive printer when the $50 model works fine? Sure it prints one page per minute and the replacement ink cartridges cost more than the printer itself, but it's just fine. And for a while it was fine until your friend, Bob told you about Brisnet.com.
Bob had been telling you for months to visit the site but one day you gave in. A cursory look around the BRIS site quickly revealed that your friend was indeed on to something. Not only did BRIS offer selection sheets and datafiles, they had superior past performances. Now you could print up your PPs right at home.
Soon you found yourself printing up Brisnet PPs every weekend for more and more tracks. As the months flew by, you noticed you were making more trips to the office supply store to buy paper and ink cartridges. The paper is not so bad, but the ink is downright expensive. Plus, you have come to the conclusion that your little printer is just too slow to handle the volume. The only way to resolve this problem, you decide, is to call Bob back. He got you into this mess, now he should get you out. Jokingly, you tell Bob he needs to buy you a new printer since he got you hooked on these Brisnet.com PPs. Bob chuckles and replies, "you don't need to replace your printer. You need to start using the new Quick Play PP's with Page Saver."
Bob continues, "Quick Play Page Savers have everything you need and saves you time and money. You see," Bob says, "the Page Saver feature of Quick Plays puts all the past performance information for each race on only two pages. You still get up to seven PP lines, the positive and negative comments, top picks for Speed, Prime Power, Class, BRIS's exclusive pedigree ratings and much, much more. The kicker is you use less paper but don't sacrifice any information. Plus, less paper means less ink and less time printing."
"So let me get this right Bob," you reply. "Quick Player PP's with Page Saver are going to save me time, money and still provide me with the same great Brisnet.com info?"
"Now your catching on," Bob says. "See, your $50 printer is just fine after all!"
Discover the Brisnet.com advantage, discover Quick Play Page Savers today. Now available in Custom Card!
Bettors make money by outwitting their peers and, in this computer age, competing against those so thoroughly informed is a difficult task. Handicappers are armed with more past performance information and statistical analysis than any human could ever have thought possible, and it's all just a keystroke away at Brisnet.com.
With so many opportunities today to place a wager, the key to long term profitable handicapping is to develop a specific wagering strategy and then have the discipline to stick with the plan. You have to "pick your spots" or you'll go broke quickly. Most people have a strong desire to have a rooting interest in every contest. But knowing when to pass a race, and exhibiting the discipline to do so, is imperative to staying in the game.
Every handicapper has a particular handicapping forte. Some people fare better finding winners in money allowance contests, while others do better with bottom level claimers. Pedigree experts, or those armed with valuable pedigree statistics, look for well bred first-time starters or lean toward grass races to spot a runner with turf potential going to the post at overlay odds. Some handicappers win more on graded stakes while others seem to succeed with cheaper horses.
How do you discover your forte? Documentation is the answer. Astute gamblers keep a history of their wagers and, over a period of time, can identify what type of bets for certain types of races at particular race tracks result in flatbet profits. Diligent record keeping is a painful process, but it's not nearly as excruciating as burning money, and with the results you can develop a plan. You'll know on what types of races you tend to make money, and more importantly when you tend to lose money. Long-term profits are reaped by betting on the races that meet certain criteria uncovered by tracking your wagers through documentation.
Until recently, finding the betting scenarios that fit best with your handicapping abilities was such a cumbersome and expensive process, that having the discipline to stick with the plan proved difficult, if not impossible. Often boredom sets in waiting for "the race" while resources are whittled away with impulse bets. And with nearly 200 or more events to choose from on an average race day, the probability of missing a race where money can be made is high.
BRISnet.com recently released a powerful new tool that solves this dilemma and enables you to bet to your strengths. CUSTOM CARD allows you to set specific criteria for the types of races you want to handicap at the tracks you want to play. The user-friendly search engine finds the types of races you dictate, including the types of wagers you like to play, and produces a past performance report for just those races. In essence, you create your own race card.
CUSTOM CARD provides a missing piece to the handicapping puzzle and is an instrumental addition to the arsenal for the spot bettor. With just a few clicks on the mouse, the handicapper who only shows profits from starter allowance events at minor tracks can download information on all the races that meet those conditions available that day.
The Past Performances and Flash Results for each race card can be easily generated by the CUSTOM CARD program. Once a report is selected, a file name referencing the file type and date appears in a box, and is stored for later use under the "Prior File" category.
Date selection is next, with initial reports for the tracks you play available 36 hours prior to the first post. Information for all tracks is not available at the same time, so if you are handicapping a specific race type for multiple tracks, an opportunity could be missed if you download the reports too early. It's a good idea to access the main product page (e.g. Ultimate PPs) to make sure all the information you need is available if you need to get an early start.
Names of each track with report availability are listed in the box. A single track or "All" tracks can be chosen, or by holding the control key down on your keyboard, multiple tracks can be selected.
If time restraints limit when you can wager, or if you prefer to bet only when the moons are in a certain alignment, the "Post Time" filtering option is useful. Choose the desired time frame for races to be run and only those races set to go off during that time will be generated.
The next setting is for sprint and route specialists, with designations available for specific distance parameters ranging from two furlongs to three miles.
CUSTOM CARD is a bonanza for turf handicappers, who have been chomping at the bit for a vehicle to access only grass races. Every turf event scheduled at every track across the country can now be downloaded as one file.
For most races, the number of contestants has a direct correlation on the value of a wager, so if you want to eliminate contests with compact fields you can do so with CUSTOM CARD. Input the minimum and maximum numbers and the program will find all those races within the field size range. Selecting race types are next with multiple choices that cover virtually every race condition.
A determination of minimum and maximum purse values is beneficial for those looking to avoid the sharpies by playing low priced events, or for those who shy away from such contests in favor of the high dollar affairs. If the selected race type is a claiming affair, an option box may be checked to substitute the claiming price instead of the purse value as the search criteria.
Age and Sex restrictions can be set, with the capability provided to choose races for specific divisions and genders. The wager type filter is potentially valuable as players can download those races that offer a specific type of wager. Included exotics are exactas, quinellas, trifectas, superfectas and twin trifectas.
Once all the desired settings are selected (don't forget to "Save" the "Profile" if you are going to use the same setting frequently) click on the "Search for Races" button and the process will begin. When the data is collected, a new page appears with a listing of all races found based on the chosen parameters. Highlight a specific race and the full conditions for the selected event is displayed, along with all available wagering opportunities. You can then add the selected race to the file or add the entire batch of races that were found based on your selected criteria.
Now you can generate the reports, handicap the races and make some money. Choose whether you want the races to be displayed in post time order or be organized by track, click on "Create Card." From here you will be taken to a screen where you can either view the file or download it to your PC for saving. After viewing the file, click on the Print button and soon you will have your own race card in your hands, customized specifically to meet your wagering strengths and designed to capitalize on your handicapping forte.
CUSTOM CARD is a product of a new age in the Thoroughbred industry. It solves major issues for those who have isolated specific types of races that result in positive ROIs. You know your strengths and have the information; it's up to you to exhibit the discipline to bet only those races you have selected. Follow the plan and make money. Stray off the path and be wary.
CUSTOM CARD's simple functionality makes it a program that every handicapper can use, and should use. Play to your strengths and begin incorporating CUSTOM CARD into your handicapping process.
MAIDEN STATS 200 and the American Produce Records 2001 on CD-ROM are your best tools to attack these events.
Why avoid two-year-old races, for instance, when you can be armed with the detailed sire and dam data that helps nails these events! At a glance you can quickly see if a horse is bred to do what it is being asked of today (e.g. first time route). That's the edge you need to cash some of those blockbuster payoffs that are so common in these races!
Both products are put out by Bloodstock Research Information Services, Inc. and have been vital tools for handicappers for many years. For more details on what these pedigree tools offer to the horseplayer, visit the Bookstore at www.brisnet.com.
