The nine-furlong Demoiselle S. (G2), the female counterpart to

the Remsen (G2), should begin the juvenile chalkfest at Aqueduct

on Saturday. SIS CITY (Slew City Slew), who pressed or set most

of the pace before holding on gamely for fourth in the Breeders'

Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), should go right to the front and never

look back.

After being claimed for $50,000 by trainer Richard Dutrow, Sis

City rolled to a front-running, 16-length victory in the Mongo

Queen S. at Monmouth Park in her first start around two turns,

then set the pace before finishing a close third in the 1 1/16-mile

Frizette S. (G1) at Belmont Park. She gets a returning John

Velazquez in the saddle and should prove hard to catch.

SALUTE (Unbridled), trained by Shug McGaughey, broke her

maiden in front-running fashion at Belmont Park, then pressed the

early issue before finishing third in the one-mile Tempted S. as

the odds-on favorite. She gets blinkers on and a rider change to

Jerry Bailey and has the kind of pedigree to relish this distance.

NATALIE JANE (Ire) (Giant's Causeway) broke her maiden going 1

1/4 miles over soft going, then finished third in a minor stakes

under the same conditions in her last start in late October in

England. She rates our sleeper.

K. D.'S SHADY LADY (Maria's Mon), the lesser half of the

Dutrow-trained entry, exits a good runner-up effort in the

Tempted after making her first three starts on turf. She is a

player for a minor award.

WINNING SEASON (Lemon Drop Kid) represents the formidable duo

of trainer D. Wayne Lukas and jockey Rafael Bejarano. She exits a

front-running score around two turns in the slop at Churchill

Downs and has some upset potential.

SECRETS GALORE (Honour and Glory) may add to the early going

but would have to improve sharply to factor. MONEY HELPS (Coronado's

Quest) just missed against maidens and would be a surprise for

all the marbles.
