Last updated: 9/28/15 12:55 PM

Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Facility in Georgetown, Kentucky,

will launch a special online fundraiser "The Halter-Palooza."

The sale will offer an elite selection of collectible stallion and broodmare

halters, many from champions that have passed away. It will also feature halters

from champions now retired at Old Friends.

The collection will hit the Ebay auction block on Monday at approximately

8:00 p.m. (EDT) and will last seven days until October 5 at 8 p.m. Listings will

be staggered throughout the evening.

Being offered in this sale are halters once worn by dual classic winner and

champion Silver Charm; Keeneland course-record setter Sgt Bert; multiple Grade 1

winner and leading broodmare Take Charge Lady; and Grade 1 winner Horse Greeley.

Halters worn by the following deceased stallions will also be offered:

champion sprinters Artax and Precisionist, Flying Pidgeon, Marquetry, Purim, and

Taylor's Special.

A halter worn by the late Bonnie's Poker, the dam of Silver Charm, will also

be offered.

All proceeds from the "Halter-Palooza" auction will go to Old Friends, a 501

(c) 3 not-for-profit organization that cares for more than 150 retired

racehorses.
