Until today, two of the more famous known horse racing appearances on game shows were Tom Durkin on Match Game and David Gutfreund on Press Your Luck. More on the video below that makes three such appearances, but first a story.
Anyone who’s been around the Breeders’ Cup knows that the purple hats with the entrants’ names on them are a hot item, and they have been for quite some time.
Back in 2013, I remember saying to Bob Feld as he unloaded a box Centralintelligence hats, “Those are really popular. I’d love to have one some day.”
HINT, HINT, LOL
“Yeah, they’re pretty cool. Connections love them. Well, see ya!” Bob deadpanned. We had a good laugh and that was that.
Fast forward a few hours later, and we’re all eating sushi together when Bob pulls the bag off his chair and presents me with a Centralintelligence hat. It was funny, but it was also a kind gesture. Bob is the type of guy who likes everyone to feel involved.
I promised myself I’d pay him back for that one day, and I hope unearthing this show of him playing Family Feud does just that. I forget when it was that he told me his was on Family Feud, but it was awhile ago, and I found it and uploaded it for everyone’s enjoyment. But I hope Bob enjoys it most.
