Top Weekly Brisnet Speed Ratings for Stakes March 26 – April 1

A slew of runners from last week’s stakes earned triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings for their wins, including Florida Derby (G1) hero Maximum Security. The bay colt easily secured a 3 1/2-length victory in that Gulfstream Park feature on March 30, good for a 102 BRIS Speed figure and enough points (100) on the Road to the Kentucky Derby to make the field on May 3.

Epical was awarded the highest BRIS Speed rating for the past week in stakes, taking home a stellar 112 for his first career stakes win in the San Luis Rey Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park on March 29. The Southern California venue also saw Secret Spice upset the Beholder Mile (G1) on March 30 to earn her first stakes victory and a 102 Speed figure.

Its All Relevant garnered a 105 BRIS Speed number for his first stakes win and third straight victory at Aqueduct on March 30 in the Dads Caps Stakes. Also on that day at Aqueduct, Group 1-placed Chilean-bred and recent claimer Turco Bravo secured a 103 Speed figure for his score in the Stud Muffin Stakes. Marconi proved best in the March 29 Skip Away Stakes at Gulfstream Park to earn a career-best 102 BRIS Speed rating.

Focus Group was the final triple-digit BRIS Speed rating earner last week in stakes, taking home a 101 figure for his nose triumph in the Pan American Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream on March 30.
