MELANYHASTHEPAPERS broke a bit awkward and was off slow then was not hurried, commenced his bid once on the second turn, angled four wide into the lane, ducked out into MOLENGAO nearing the furlong pole, bumped a couple times with that rival, recovered then resumed his rally. ACE BLUE (BRZ) was well placed from outset while crossing to the rail, remained inside on the second turn but lacked a solid closing response. MOLENGAO (BRZ) was permitted to trail to the second turn, angled widest and offered a bold rally into the lane, was bumped off stride by MELANYHASTHEPAPERS nearing the furlong pole, bumped again with that rival and lost most of his punch. GREELEY'S GALAXY stalked the pace three wide for six furlongs and faded. TRICKEY TREVOR set the pace in hand from the inside, maintained his advantage under heavy pressure to the head of the lane then had little left. The steward's posted the inquiry and reviewed the incident at the head of the stretch between MELANYHASTHEPAPERS and MOLENGAO but allowed the original finish to stand.
