Race Summary
CAPTAIN SQUIRE dueled inside on the backstretch and turn, inched away in midstretch and held on gamely under urging. ZANZIBAR (ARG) bumped and in a bit tight when four wide early, chased three deep on the backstretch and off the rail on the turn, came four wide into the stretch and finished willingly but could not get by the winner. INDIAN COUNTRY unhurried a bit off the rail early, swung out into the stretch and closed gamely. GOTAGHOSTOFACHANCE chased inside, came out into the stretch, angled back in, waited momentarily in deep stretch and also went on willingly but was outfinished. MCCANN'S MOJAVE sent between horses to duel for command on the backstretch and turn, weakened in the final furlong. BILO angled in early, dueled three deep until upper stretch and also weakened. BEAR IN THE WOODS bumped early, chased between horses on the backstretch and outside a rival on the turn and lacked the needed rally. Claims of foul by the rider of BEAR IN THE WOODS against ZANZIBAR and BILO for alleged interference early were not allowed by the stewards, who ruled the incident minor and that it did not affect the order of finish.
