| Race Summary |
|---|
BROTHER DEREK broke in a bit, pulled his way between horses then forced the pace
three deep, took the lead outside LATENT HEAT into the stretch, inched away
nearing midstretch and proved best under steady handling while being shown the
whip. SACRED LIGHT angled in and saved ground off the pace, came off the rail in
the stretch and finished well to be second best. LATENT HEAT had good early
speed and dueled between foes, battled a bit off the rail into the stretch,
found the fence in the drive and weakened some but held third. MISTER TRIESTER
went up inside to duel for command, dropped back and came out into the stretch
and weakened. HAWKINSVILLE unhurried inside then a bit off the rail, angled out
into the stretch and lacked the needed rally. BLAZING SUNSET four wide into the
first turn, stalked outside then off the rail and weakened in the stretch.
NIAGARA CAUSEWAY was allowed to settle off the rail then outside a rival and
failed to menace. OBJECTIVE between foes early, stalked just off the rail,
dropped back on the second turn, gave way and was eased in the final furlong.
