Antsu Stables' BLUES STREET (Street Cry [Ire]) rallied down the middle of the course to win going away in the $100,000 Fair Grounds H. (G3), registering his first graded stakes victory with a 2 1/4-length decision. Trained by Todd Pletcher, who won his second graded event on the stakes-packed program one race later with Discreetly Mine (Mineshaft) in the Risen Star S. (G2), the six-year-old gelding improved his overall mark to 21-7-5-3, $307,178, when completing about 1 1/8 miles in 1:51 3/5 over the firm turf.

A former high-priced claimer, Blues Street extended his win streak to three after garnering a pair of allowance/optional claiming events at Gulfstream Park and Aqueduct. Favored at 9-5 over eight rivals on Saturday, the dark bay paid $5.80, $3.60 and $3 and keyed the $53.60 exacta with 10-1 runner-up Dubious Miss (E Dubai), who seized a brief lead in midstretch before being passed by the winner and gave back $9.80 and $6.60. It was 4 1/2 lengths back to Baltimore Bob (Malibu Moon), who returned $4.40 at 10-1, and another 2 1/2 lengths to the 25-1 Transduction Gold (Formal Gold) in fourth. The trifecta yielded $227.20, and the 4-7-1-10 superfecta was $1,291.20. Gretsky (Toccet), Silverfoot (With Approval), Get Rich Quick (Seeking the Gold) and Acting Zippy (City Zip) came next under the wire, and Secret Getaway (Skip Away) was eased. Giant Oak (Giant's Causeway) was withdrawn in favor of the Mineshaft H. (G3) later on the card.

Bred in Kentucky by Harriet Finkelstein, Blues Street sold for $85,000 as a 2005 Keeneland September yearling and RNA'ed for $77,000 at the 2006 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May two-year-old sale. He's the first foal to race out of Capote Blues (Capote) and has two-year-old half-sister named Henny Blues (Hennessy) and a yearling half-sister by Hard Spun. Capote Blues hails from 1994 Matron (G1) winner Stormy Blues (Cure the Blues). Blues Street captured last year's Memorial Day H. at Mountaineer Park and has placed in two listed stakes.
