Juvenile colts and fillies to contest Monmouth NATC Futurity Monmouth Park will host a pair of $200,000 stakes on Saturday for juveniles who have been cataloged in this year's two-year-olds in training sales. Sponsored by the National Association of Two-Year-Old Consignors, each six-furlong race is named the Monmouth Park NATC Futurity. One has drawn a field of nine colts, while its companion has attracted 10 fillies. Among the colts, ACTIN GOOD (Yes It's True), a $142,000 purchase at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's February sale, has compiled the best resume. After breaking his maiden at Monmouth, the Robert Dibona pupil finished second in the Tyro S. and fourth in the Saratoga Special Breeders' Cup S. (G2). In his latest outing, Actin Good held the lead in the Sapling S. (G3) before exchanging bumps with eventual winner Xchanger (Exchange Rate) and settling for second, beaten only three-quarters of a length. Horseman Kiaran McLaughlin will send out the only other colt with stakes experience, Sanford S. (G2) fourth-placer TRIP TO THE BANK (Trippi), who brought a bid of $165,000 at OBS in February. Although still a maiden, the bay colt has had the misfortune of hooking two subsequent stakes winners in his first two starts. In his debut, Trip to the Bank was runner-up to the smart Out of Gwedda (Out of Place), who came back to win the Tremont S., and second time out, he played second fiddle to Sanford hero Scat Daddy (Johannesburg). REATA'S ROCKET (Cape Canaveral) will make his first stakes appearance for Joe Orseno. Snapped up for $95,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale in May, the chestnut is coming off a rousing, five-length maiden score at the Jersey Shore oval. In the fillies' contest, CHAGALL (Successful Appeal), an $825,000 acquisition at the Fasig-Tipton February auction, will represent the powerful Todd Pletcher barn. She broke her maiden at first asking at Churchill Downs in June, then was just outdueled by Richwoman (Successful Appeal) in the Debutante S. (G3) beneath the Twin Spires. Chagall wound up sixth in the Adirondack Breeders' Cup S. (G2) last time out after a troubled break. The only other stakes-placed filly in the field is the Orseno-trained LIA'S LUCK (Smoke Glacken). The $90,000 OBS April purchase retreated to third in the Sorority S. at this track and distance after leading in the early stages. Sharp Keeneland maiden winner ANGEL ISLAND (Forestry) had to steady to avoid a fallen rival in the Schuylerville S. (G3) and checked in sixth. The Scott Blasi pupil will try to rebound here in her third career start. Rounding out the stakes action on Saturday's card at Monmouth is the $65,000 Omnibus S., slated for nine furlongs on the turf. An overflow field of 13 distaffers has crowded the entry box, including two also-eligibles and one main track only entrant. The headliner is NAISSANCE ROYALE (Ire) (Giant's Causeway), winner of last year's Lake Placid S. (G2) at the Spa and most recently successful in the Nassau S. (Can-G2) at Woodbine. Other notable stakes queens involved are Stonerside Stable homebred CONNIE BELLE (Storm Cat) and last-out Eatontown H. (G3) runner-up RAHYS' APPEAL (Rahy).
