Lane's End has purchased an interest in Tonalist. A leading three year old in

2014, Tonalist has won three graded stakes including the Belmont Stakes and the

Jockey Club Gold Cup, becoming just the second three-year-old to accomplish that

feat since Easy Goer in 1989.

"We are extremely excited to acquire an interest in this outstanding colt.

His sire is quickly becoming the most important stallion in America," Will

Farish said. "Tonalist is his only Grade 1 winning son at a mile and a quarter

and the only multiple Grade 1 winning son."

"We've had great success with classic stallions and he certainly adds to that

legacy," Bill Farish said. "A.P. Indy, Lemon Drop Kid, Curlin and Union Rags won

races like the Belmont and Gold Cup; we feel Tonalist will continue that

success."

Out of the Pleasant Colony mare Settling Mist, Tonalist descends from the

immediate female family of Horse of the Year, Havre de Grace and multiple Grade

1 winner Riskaverse.

"It's been an incredible year and we're very fortunate to own a horse the

caliber of Tonalist," owner Robert S. Evans said. "He's a leading candidate for

champion three-year-old and, depending on the outcome of the Breeders' Cup, even

Horse of the Year."

Tonalist will make his next start in the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic on

November 1.
