Last updated: 9/16/06 7:10 PM

Capitol Hill Thoroughbreds' JERSEY PEACH (Forest Wildcat) stalked the

pacesetting Fagedaboudit Sal (Yarrow Brae) throughout Saturday's $125,000

Jersey Breeders' H. at Monmouth Park, before splitting rivals at the quarter-pole and drawing off for the easy 6 1/2-length victory. With Chris DeCarlo

aboard, the Joe Orseno-trained four-year-old was sent off the 11-1 fifth choice

in the eight-horse field and returned $24.60, $10.60 and $4.60 for completing 1

1/16 miles on the fast dirt in 1:43 3/5.

Fagedaboudit Sal grabbed the lead out of the gate, setting splits of :22 4/5,

:46 and 1:10 4/5 before being passed by the winner. He just managed to hold

second by a neck over Meadow Blue (Meadow Monster) to pay $18.40 and $5.20 as

the 28-1 second-longest shot on the board, finishing the $368.20 exacta. Show

was worth $2.40 as Meadow Blue was a nose up on Carrots Only (Defrere) to take

third. The $1 trifecta returned $698.90 while the $1 superfecta (9-6-5-3) was

worth $3,570.10.

Upturn (Distorted Humor), My Husband (Husband), Calabria Bella (Accelerator)

and Four O Won (Not for Love) finished out the order under the wire. Cool Cat

Interview (Private Interview) was withdrawn.

Jersey Peach earned his first stakes win here after running second in the

Lincroft H. prior to this one. The chestnut gelding's record now reads 16-4-3-3

with $219,460 in lifetime earnings. Out of the stakes-winning Gold Plum (Cahill

Road), Jersey Peach counts as a full brother stakes hero Wild Jam (Forest

Wildcat) and an unraced juvenile named Gold Medal Skier and an unnamed yearling

filly, both by Appealing Skier, as half-siblings.

The Jersey Breeders' H. was but one of four stakes events on Monmouth's New

Jersey Thoroughbred Festival. Starting off the action was Phillip J. Torsney's

I'MTOOGOODTOBETRUE (Good and Tough), who scored a three-quarter of a length

victory in the $100,000

Jersey

Girl H. under Joe Bravo. The Edward Allard-conditioned four-year-old was

favored at 2-5 in the 1 1/16-mile test, stopping the clock in 1:45, and ran

third in this event last season. The bay lass now owns five stakes wins and

moved her record to 16-7-4-2 with $346,136 in earnings.

Gerald F. Sleeter's WHO'S THE COWBOY (Intensity) was a 4 1/4-length winner of

the $100,000

Friendly Lover H. Overcoming a

bumpy start and top weight of 127 pounds, the bay four-year-old ran six furlongs in 1:08 2/5 for trainer

Kevin Sleeter with Edwin King Jr. aboard to earn his fourth straight stakes

victory. Favored at 3-5 as part of an entry, Who's the Cowboy improved his line to 22-11-5-0, $574,273.

Who's the Cowboy could appear next in the October 7 Vosburgh S. (G1) at

Belmont, with his final objective being the November 25 Frank J. DeFrancis

Memorial Dash S. (G1) at Laurel.

New Farm's WILD GAMS (Forest Wildcat), second by a neck in the Prioress

Breeders' Cup S. (G1) on July 8, rebounded from a ninth last

time in the Test S. (G1) to take the $100,000

Eleven

North H. under Bravo. The Ben Perkins Jr. trainee rallied from fourth to

just get her neck down on the line as the 4-5 favorite, posting a final time of

1:09 3/5 for six furlongs. The bay sophomore, winner of the Cicada S. (G3)

earlier in the season, pushed her earnings to $285,206 to go along with an

11-5-2-0 record.

Wild Gams is headed to the Safely Kept Breeders' Cup S. (G3) on October 21 at

Laurel Park.
