Added Edge to enter stud in Iowa

ADDED EDGE (Smart Strike), the 2002 champion two-year-old colt in Canada,

will enter stud next year at Special K Stables near Runnells, Iowa. No stud fee

was announced.

At two, Added Edge was unbeaten in four starts, culminating his championship

season with a 2 1/4-length victory in the Nashua S. (G3) at Aqueduct. The

chestnut won four other black-type events and captured the 2005 Razorback Breeders'

Cup H. (G3) at Oaklawn Park in his final career outing. The six year-old will

head to the breeding shed with a record 19-8-2-5, $552,326.

Out of multiple stakes winner Sweet Nostalgia (Mr. Redoy), Added Edge is a

half-brother to three-time stakes winner and $252,151-earner Gold Memory (Crafty

Prospector). His second dam, Maritza (High Roll), was named champion imported

two- and three-year-old filly in Puerto Rico.
