Aqueduct cancels due to high winds
Due to expected wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour in the afternoon,
Aqueduct canceled live racing for Friday. Aqueduct and the Belmont
Cafe remained open for simulcasting.
Live racing is expected to continue Saturday at Aqueduct with a 10-race card. First
post will be at 12:30 p.m. (EST).
There is no charge for admission or general parking at Aqueduct for either
live racing days (usually Wednesdays through Sundays) or simulcast-only days. On
simulcast-only days, fans will be able to enter the facility through the
Clubhouse entrance. During simulcast-only days, parking and admission gates will
open at 11 a.m., mutuels will open at approximately noon, and on Friday and
Saturday, the final simulcast race will go off at approximately 11 p.m.
The bus
service which is available from locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens to
Aqueduct does not run on simulcast-only days.
