Adirondack S. (G2) victress MORE HAPPY (Vindication) tops a field of 10

juvenile fillies entered in Sunday's 116th running of the $250,000 Spinaway S.

(G1). A debut winner at Del Mar, the Bob Baffert-trained filly shipped to

Saratoga for her second career start and led wire to wire in the 6 1/2-furlong

Adirondack. Rafael Bejarano will retain the mount aboard More Happy, who will

square off against the Adirondack runner-up and third-placer, A TO THE CROFT

(Menifee) and PASSION (Came Home), and several other promising runners in the

seven-furlong event.

A to the Croft overcame trouble to just miss last time, and trainer Kenny

McPeek is looking forward to the rematch.

"I did not like being in the one-hole (in the Adirondack) at all," McPeek

explained. "Hopefully, this time she'll have a little cleaner trip and she'll

have more ground. If that (trouble) didn't happen (last time), she probably wins

regardless."

A to the Croft drew post 3 with Kent Desormeaux in the Spinaway.

IRISH SMOKE (Smoke Glacken) will make her stakes bow following a smart 2

1/4-length tally in her career debut earlier in the meet. Julien Leparoux will

guide the Patrick Biancone-trained filly.

"I'm cautiously optimistic about going seven furlongs this time," Biancone

said. "Going from five furlongs to seven furlongs is a big jump, but she was

able to relax in her first race. Some horses are professional from the first day

you get them in the barn, and some aren't. She's one of those horses that was a

professional from the first day."

PHANTOM INCOME (Montbrook), the close second choice in the Adirondack, was

still being held by the starter when the gates opened last time and reared

badly, resulting in her being declared a non-starter. In her debut, the Richard Violette Jr.

pupil posted a smart 10 1/4-length maiden

special weight romp at Belmont Park in early July. Eibar Coa will guide the gray

lass on Sunday.

BLITZING (Montbrook), who missed by only a neck when third in the opening-day

Schuylerville S. (G3), will return to action in the Spinaway. MORAKAMI (Fusaichi

Pegasus) exits a sharp two-length debut score at the Spa and will make her

stakes bow from the rail with Edgar Prado.

The complete cast is Morakami; SALTY WAVE (Salty Sea), Cornelio Velasquez; A

to the Croft; PREDATE (Pure Precision), Garrett Gomez; YONAGUCCI (Yonaguska),

Jeffrey Sanchez; Irish Smoke; More Happy; Phantom Income; Passion, John

Velazquez; and Blitzing, Shaun Bridgmohan.

All starters will carry 119 pounds. Predate is cross-entered to Sunday's

Sorority S. at Monmouth Park.

Two other stakes will be offered on the penultimate day of racing during the

2007 Saratoga meet.

The $100,000

Saranac

S. (G3) drew 11 sophomores for 1 3/16 miles on the turf. Lexington S. hero

DISTORTED REALITY (Distorted Humor) exits a close third in the National Museum

of Racing Hall of Fame S. (G2) and rates as a top contender for Todd Pletcher.

DIAMOND FEVER (Seeking the Gold) will bring a four-race winning skein into his

graded debut, winning the Stanton S. at Delaware Park most recently for

conditioner Michael Matz. PAYS TO DREAM (High Yield) will try graded company off

a nice score in the restricted Glow S. earlier in the meet, and Jersey

Derby runner-up CHALUIWITCANE (Tiger Ridge), who is cross-entered to Saturday's

Kent Breeders' Cup S. (G3), is also in the line-up.

Twelve New York-bred sophomore fillies, including an also-eligible and a

main-track only runner, have been entered in the $80,000

Irish Actress S. The top three finishers in the Statue of Liberty Division

of the New York Stallion Stakes -- TISHMEISTER (City Zip), DON'T MIND ME (Freud)

and WESTERN SWEEP (Western Expression) -- will all return for the one-mile

grassy test.
