Double Eagle Ranch Farm and Buena Suerte Equine's MINE THAT BIRD (Birdstone) missed

the opportunity for a Triple Crown bid when finishing a length short in the

Preakness S. (G1), but the Kentucky Derby (G1) winner will still have the

opportunity to further his legacy in Saturday's $1 million Belmont S. (G1). The

Chip Woolley-trained gelding will face nine rivals from post 7 in the 141st

running of the 1 1/2-mile classic.

Installed as the 2-1 favorite on the morning line, Mine That Bird will be

reunited with Derby-winning jockey Calvin Borel, who will attempt to become the

first jockey to win all three legs of the Triple Crown in the same year with

different horses. Borel jumped off Mine That Bird to ride the filly Rachel

Alexandra (Medaglia d'Oro) to victory in the Preakness, but Woolley

elected to take him back and is glad to have the hot-riding Louisiana native in

the saddle.

Peter Pan S. (G2) hero CHARITABLE MAN (Lemon Drop Kid) is the 3-1 second

choice. Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, who sent out 2006 Belmont winner Jazil,

the Virginia-bred colt is three-for-three on dirt, suffering his only career

setback over Polytrack when returning from a lengthy layoff in April's Blue

Grass (G1). Charitable Man will be guided by regular rider Alan Garcia, who

earned his first Triple Crown victory aboard Da' Tara (Tiznow) in the 2008

Belmont.

Florida Derby (G1) runner-up DUNKIRK (Unbridled's Song), freshened off a

troubled 11th in the Kentucky Derby, is the 4-1 third choice. Trainer Todd

Pletcher, who secured his only career Triple Crown win when capturing the 2007

Belmont with the filly Rags to Riches, will give a leg up to new jockey John

Velazquez.

Grade 3 winner CHOCOLATE CANDY (Candy Ride [Arg]), who finished fifth in the

Derby for legendary Northern California conditioner Jerry Hollendorfer, comes

next on the morning line at 10-1. Derby sixth-placer SUMMER BIRD (Birdstone) and

Preakness fourth-placer FLYING PRIVATE (Fusaichi Pegasus) are both listed at

12-1.
