Last updated: 11/8/07 8:21 PM

BIT OF WHIMSY (Distorted Humor) and BEL AIR BEAUTY (Smart Strike), who are

both exiting impressive victories at Keeneland, will square off in Saturday's

$150,000 Mrs. Revere S. (G2) at Churchill Downs. The 1 1/16-mile turf test has

attracted a field of 14 sophomore fillies.

The Barclay Tagg-trained Bit of Whimsy is coming off a 2 1/4-length tally in

the Queen Elizabeth II Invitational Challenge Cup S. (G1), where she produced a

telling change of gear to defeat champion Dreaming of Anna (Rahy), as well as

Mrs. Revere rivals COSTUME (GB) (Danehill) (fourth) and TOUCH MY SOUL (Fr)

(Tiger Hill) (fifth). While the QEII was a breakthrough performance for Bit of

Whimsy, she has been a solid competitor in her division all summer. The chestnut

dead-heated with Rutherienne (Pulpit) to earn a share of the victory in the

Sands Point S. (G3) and was a game runner-up in the Garden City S. (G1).

Tabbed as the 2-1 favorite on the morning line, Bit of Whimsy will tote the

top weight of 123 pounds. Javier Castellano figures to engineer a ground-saving

trip from post 3.

Bel Air Beauty scored a 2 1/2-length victory in the Valley View S. (G3) in

her latest venture. The Frank Brothers pupil, who broke her maiden in the

Alcibiades S. (G2) over Keeneland's Polytrack last year, was slow to come to

hand this season, but she has struck top form since switching to the grass. The

bay placed in the Audubon Oaks and Pucker Up S. (G3) before putting it all

together with a dominating effort in the Valley View.

On Saturday, Bel Air Beauty will try to give retiring jockey Mark Guidry a

winning send-off in his final ride. The 4-1 second choice will break from post

5.

Three other contestants are exiting stakes victories at different points of

the compass -- CAT CHARMER (Storm Cat) rallied to a half-length score in the

Pebbles S. at Belmont, TENSAS YUCATAN (Ide) rolled by three front-running

lengths in the Marie P. DeBartolo Oaks at Louisiana Downs, and GOTTA HAVE HER

(Royal Academy) wired the field in the Harold C. Ramser Sr. H. at Oak Tree.

Tensas Yucatan, a 15-1 outsider, will lead the post parade beneath Robby

Albarado. Next will come German Group 3 victress Touch My Soul, Rene Douglas,

12-1; Bit of Whimsy; LONG APPROACH (Broad Brush), Shaun Bridgmohan, 30-1; KISS

WITH A TWIST (Lemon Drop Kid), Charles Woods Jr., 30-1; Bel Air Beauty; Regret

S. (G3) third DASHES N DOTS (Aptitude), Miguel Mena, 30-1; Caressing H. winner

CIAO (Lear Fan), Kent Desormeaux, 12-1; Gotta Have Her, Richard Migliore, 8-1;

Grade 3 scorer LISA M (Banker's Gold), Calvin Borel, 30-1; Cat Charmer, Julien

Leparoux, 8-1; Audubon Oaks queen KATERBUG (Pulpit), Brian Hernandez Jr., 30-1;

English Group 3-placed Costume, Rafael Bejarano, 9-2; and English Group 3-placed

BICOASTAL (Gone West), Larry Melancon, 50-1.

Except for Bit of Whimsy with 123 pounds, and Touch My Soul and  Bel Air

Beauty with 121, the rest will carry 117.
