A colt by Broken Vow sold for the top price of $625,000 at Tuesday's opening

session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's March Sale of Selected

Two-Year-Olds in Training. Zayat Stables purchased the colt, named RED VOW, from

the consignment of O & H Bloodstock, agent.

The bay colt is a half-brother to Eishin Hampton (Dynaformer), a stakes

winner in Japan, and Level Red (Aptitude), who finished third in the 2007 San Felipe S.

(G2). He is out of Sedona Berry (Strawberry Road [Aus]), a daughter of multiple

stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Tromphe de Naskra (Naskra), who also produced

1995 Flower Bowl Invitational H. (G1) heroine Northern Emerald (Green Dancer).

Red Vow previously sold for $65,000 at the 2007 Keeneland September Yearling

Sale. At the first under tack show on March 9, he breezed a quarter-mile in :21

2/5.

The session-topper was cataloged as Hip No. 64.

A colt by Pure Prize sold for $550,000 to John Ferguson, who was bidding on

behalf of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum. Consigned by Leprechaun Racing,

agent, the Florida-bred juvenile is a half-brother to 2008 OBS Sprint S.

victress Banga Ridge (Snow Ridge), who has won four-of-nine starts and $118,000.

The chestnut colt is out of Time for a Crown (Time for a Change), a

half-sister to stakes-placed winners Marquesa Jen (Marquetry) and Carson Gem

(Carson City). The latter is the dam of Grade 3 winner E Z Warrior (Exploit),

who finished third in last year's King's Bishop S. (G1) at Saratoga.

At the first under tack preview, the colt worked an eighth-mile in :10.

Cataloged as Hip 128, the youngster previously sold for $30,000 at the 2007 OBS

August Yearling Sale.

The highest-price filly fetched $550,000 from Tom Gentry, agent. By Mr.

Greeley, the dark bay lass is the first foal out of the unraced Tale of the Cat

mare Bacardi Cat, a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Jade Hunter (Mr.

Prospector). Her second dam, stakes winner Jadana (Ire) (Pharly), is a

half-sister to English and Irish champion two-year-old Monteverdi (Ire)

(Lyphard).

At the first under tack show, she breezed an eighth-mile in :10 2/5.

Cataloged as Hip 199, she previously RNA'ed for $245,000 at last year's

Keeneland September auction.

On Tuesday, 110 horses sold for $15,734,500, a 29.2 percent increase compared

to the same session a year ago when 126 horses brought an aggregate of

$12,182,000. The average price soared 47.9 percent, from $96,683 to $143,041.

The sale concludes Wednesday with the final session beginning at 11 a.m.

(EDT).
