Broodmare session of Magic Millions begins

The Magic Millions National Sale, which got off to a strong start with four

weanling sessions last week, continues Monday on Australia's Gold Coast with the

first of five sessions offering broodmares.

The breeding stock section continues through Friday, with the select sessions

taking place Monday and Tuesday and the general sessions scheduled for the final

two days.

Four-time Group 1 winner DIVINE MADONNA (Hurricane Sky) is an expected

highlight for day one of the sale. The six-year-old captured the 2006 Emirates

S. (Aus-G1) as well as the 2007 editions of the Myer Classic S. (Aus-G1), Queen

of the Turf S. (Aus-G1) and Toorak H. (Aus-G1). She's earned A$2,013,390.

Consigned by Widden Stud, agent, as Lot No. 951, she is a half-sister to

Group 3 winner Blessum (Umatilla) and could break the A$1.6-million record for a

mare sold in the Gold Coast ring.
