Castelletto tops Goffs' Thursday session
Emphasis switched from yearlings to breeding stock at Goffs' February Mixed
Sale on Thursday, and the session highlight yielded an almost instant profit for
vendor Loughtown & Chevington Studs. Purchased for 100,000 at Goffs' November
Broodmares & Filles Sale and re-offered here as Hip No. 663, the Group 3-winning
four-year-old CASTELLETTO (GB) (Komaite) was knocked down to Basil Brindley for
125,000.
Of the remaining yearlings which sold during the morning session, Ardmayle
House Stud's Hip 571 proved best. The chestnut Danehill Dancer filly went the
way of Kevin O'Brien for 85,000.
Selling continues on Friday, and full results are available at www.goffs.com.
