William Callis' CAT SHAKER (Catienus) caught pacesetter Daddy Joe (Unbridled's

Song) in deep stretch and recorded an upset win at 38-1 in Saturday's $100,000

Rushaway S. at Turfway Park. The Craig Callas-trained three-year-old earned his

first stakes victory by a half-length and completed 1 1/16 miles in 1:44 2/5

over the muddy track. Grade 1 winner Proud Accolade (Yes It's True), the 2-5

favorite, stalked the pace before weakening at the top of the stretch to sixth.

Daddy Joe went right to the lead from his far outside post and set

uncontested fractions of :22 4/5, :46 2/5 and 1:11 1/5. Cat Shaker bided his

time near the back of the pack in the early stages before advancing along the

rail on the far turn with jockey Joe Bravo. Daddy's Joe looked strong at the top

of the stretch, but Cat Shaker closed fast to catch his rival right before the

finish. The winner paid $79.80, $33.40 and $20.60.

Daddy Joe easily held second at 15-1 and Catch Me (Cat Thief) came next at 6-1. The

exotics were massive--$887 for the exacta, $6,936.40 for the trifecta and

$112,262.20 for the 9-12-3-6 superfecta that included 10-1 Melissa's Comet

(Siphon [Brz]) in fourth. Stormy Afternoon (Afternoon Deelites) took fifth and

Proud Accolade, Broke Sharply (With Approval), Sterlingprospector (Luhuk),

Spinfire (Spinning World) and Raving Rocket (Lil's Lad) rounded out the order of

finish. Mad Adam (Service Stripe) and Pinpoint (Peaks and Valleys) were

scratched.

A maiden winner at Mountaineer Park last November, Cat Shaker earned his

second career victory and now shows a record of 9-2-0-3 with a $94,915 bankroll.

Bred in Kentucky by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, the dark bay colt is out of the

winning Diamonds N Pearls (Black Tie Affair [Ire]) and was purchased for only

$2,000 at the 2003 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October sale.

In the race prior, DANCE AWAY CAPOTE (Capote) returned to the winner's

circle for the first time since capturing the Irish Sonnet S. at Delaware Park

last September when posting a four-length win in the $150,000

Bourbonette

Breeders' Cup S. for three-year-old fillies. She caught 8-5 favorite Amazing Buy

(High Yield) with a furlong left to run and quickly drew off under Rafael

Bejarano. The Graham Motion charge was the 7-2 second choice in the field of 11.

Fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), Dance Away Capote also

finished a close fourth in the Alciabides S. (G2) last October and recorded a

second in the Sorority S. at Monmouth Park. The gray miss traveled a mile in

1:37 2/5 and has now earned $221,950 from a 7-3-1-0 line.

Gallant Secret (Menifee), a 75-1 outsider, passed Amazing Buy right before

the wire for second. The favorite came next and was followed under the wire by

Sweet Talker (Stormin Fever), Brett's Favrette (Smart Strike), Easily (Vicar),

Smart Voyager (Whiskey Wisdom), Lady Dynasty (Richter Scale), Shadow Dance

(Editor's Note), Flying Glitter (Glitterman) and Touch of Splendor

(Charismatic).

In the $49,500

Hansel S., CALL THE LORD (Lord Carson) sprinted to the lead

after the break and led wire to wire for a 1 3/4-length decision. Trained by Joe

Cain and ridden by Rodney Prescott, the sophomore improved his overall mark to

5-3-0-1 with his first black-type victory and completed six muddy furlongs in

1:09 3/5. The Kentucky-bred was sent off the 9-2 fifth choice in the field of

eight.

REVOLUTIONARY ACT (Boston Harbor) led wire to wire for a seven-length triumph

in $50,000 Queen S. at Turfway. Billy Patin guided the Pat Huffman-trained

five-year-old mare, who broke on top and quickly opened up a clear advantage at

7-2 odds. Winner of the Holiday Inaugural S. in December, Revolutionary Act was

making her 2005 bow and now owns a 12-5-0-1 record. She turned six furlongs in

1:09 3/5.
