Cativa looms large in Distaff
CATIVA (Sir Cat), who has won eight of her last 10 starts, looms as the one
to catch in Saturday's $150,000 Distaff Breeders' Cup H. (G2) at Aqueduct. The
five-year-old mare rolled to a front-running, daylight victory in the seven-furlong Barbara Fritchie H. (G2) at Laurel Park in her most recent outing and will carry top
weight of 119 pounds in the seven-furlong Distaff, including jockey Edgar Prado.
Trainer Lisa Lewis said LOVETHATLEGEND (Gold Legend), who zipped six furlongs
in 1:09 4/5 over the inner track in her last start, may not run if the track is
off, which is a real possibility.
Cativa will lead the post parade followed by TRAVELATOR (A. P Jet), Mike
Luzzi, 116; BANK AUDIT (Wild Rush), Richard Migliore, 118; SILMARIL (Diamond),
Stewart Elliott, 115; Lovethatlegend, Fernando Jara, 114; MISS PARK PLACE
(American Chance), Alan Garcia, 112; and SENSIBLY CHIC (Distorted Humor), Ramon
Dominguez, 117.
