Champion sprinter Work All Week retired
Champion sprinter Work All Week has been retired, owner Midwest
Thoroughbreds announced on Thursday after discovering a stress fracture in the
gelding's knee during a routine scan.
The six-year-old chestnut upset last year's Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) at
19-1, earning him an Eclipse Award as the 2014 champion sprinter after he closed
out the year 5-1-0 from six starts. Trained by Roger Brueggemann,
Work All Week accumulated more than $1.5 million in career earnings and
finished worse than second just twice in his 19-race career.
