Ten fillies and mares will head to the gate on Saturday at Arlington Park for

the $175,000 Chicago Breeders' Cup H. (G3) at seven furlongs. Highlighting the

pack is multiple stakes winner ANNIKA LASS (Mister Jolie), second versus stakes

competition last out, but in order to try to offer a little more value, we will

go with the six-year-old veteran EBONY BREEZE (Belong to Me).

Recording two solid outings since moving back to the barn of trainer Bill

Mott, the bay mare returns to a distance at which she has proven successful in

the past (5-2-2-0). She exits a close second in the Winning Colors S. at

Churchill Downs, falling short by just a neck while recording a 100 BRIS Late Pace

rating. She should improve given the added distance from that six-furlong

contest and should benefit from her late kick here. John Jacinto has the call.

Annika Lass has run well against credible opponents since Steve Asmussen took

over training duties this year, running third in both the Distaff Breeders' Cup

H. (G3) and Bed o' Roses Breeders' Cup H. (G2) in her first two starts, before

finishing second in the Sweet and Sassy S. last out. Jockey Chris Emigh has won 11 of his last 29 starts, and the

five-year-old gray Annika Lass will be hard to deny in the top three.

MODJADJI (Pioneering) is one of a coupled entry for trainer

Christine Janks, both with Francisco Torres listed to ride. If she runs, the

chestnut four-year-old could be a dark horse, as her late kick makes her

dangerous over a track that has been favoring late speed at this distance so

far this meet. Janks and Torres have captured four of eight over the past two

weeks when paired up. She comes off a nice victory in the Your Ladyship S.

versus Illinois-breds most recently over this same course and distance.

MORNER (Broken Vow) will be found gunning for the early lead. The La Troienne

S. (G3) fourth-placer has yet to win at this distance and although she will be hard

pressed to find the winner's circle, the sophomore miss could hold on for part. SILVER CROWN

(Distorted Humor) is three for six at seven furlongs, but has not fared well at

Arlington Park in her career, with only one win in 10 starts. She has good late

speed and could improve while stretching out from her last two. Keep in mind for

the gimmicks.

ISLAND ESCAPE (Petionville) ran a close second versus allowance/optional claiming foes over the turf in her last appearance while sent six wide entering

the lane. She could improve in her return to the dirt. GETCOZYWITHKAYLEE (Zafarrancho

[Arg]) comes off a solid 3 1/4-length win in preparation for this and could loom

as a closing threat in the latter stages.

DIMPLE PINCH (Smoke Glacken) is taking a step up in class and we will bet

against. PENTELICUS DANCE (Pentelicus) has proven herself worthy against

allowance company, but may be a little out of her league in this one. FOR

GILLIAN (Gold Fever) has not done well against similar company and the

front-running five-year-old has not been putting up the numbers for

consideration in this field.
