Choisir responsible for top seller at SGA

While 14 lots broke through the six-figure barrier during a lively initial

session at Societa Gestione Aste's Select Yearling Sale at the Settimo Milanese

venue Friday, Saturday's closing installment was a more subdued affair, with no

bids reaching that landmark. The session topper, Hip No. 153, hit the ring before

midday, with leading domestic player La Nuova Sbarra going to 70,000 for a

filly by Choisir out of the Alzao mare Luna d'Estate. Offered by

Razza del Sole and already named LUNA NEL POZZO, she hails from the family

of Premio Federico Tesio (Ity-G2) winner Big Reef (Mill Reef).

This term's freshman

sensation Invincible Spirit was responsible for the highest-priced colt of

the session. Con Marnane, in action early, went to 65,000 for the third lot

through the ring. Offered by Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti as Hip 131, he

represented the first of the Bansha House frontman's four purchases on the day.

Closing day returns remained virtually on a par with last year's figures,

although Friday's fireworks ensured the sale aggregate advanced almost 9

percent.
