Jeffrey Tucker's RED ZIPPER (City Zip) took command in midstretch and drew

off to a convincing three-length win in the $75,000

Cormorant division of the

New York Stallion Stakes series over the good turf at Aqueduct.

Piloted by Eibar Coa, who rode three winners in Aqueduct's six New York-bred events

on Sunday,

the 9-5 favorite settled just off the pace early before putting in his winning

move, clocking the 1 1/16 miles in 1:46 2/5 for conditioner John Morrison. Red

Zipper captured this event last year, as well as the Kingston H. earlier in this

campaign, and now sports a lifetime line of 17-6-2-0, $303,480.

One race earlier in the $75,000

Staten Island division, Coa nursed Hedgewick

Stable's TAMBERINO (Freud) on the lead for the opening half-mile, then signaled

the miss to spurt clear in the

lane to post a three-quarters of a length score. Conditioned by Thomas Bush, the

four-year-old filly stopped the teletimer in 1:23 for seven panels on the fast

dirt to earn her

first stakes win. The dark bay now shows $169,546 in earnings from a 14-4-3-2 mark.

Coa kicked off his win spree by guiding home 2-5 choice FACTUAL CONTENDER

(Thunder Puddles) in the $75,000

Perfect Arc division.

Sporting the silks of

Thomas J. Farone Jr., the six-year-old mare took a short lead at the six-furlong

marker and held all challengers at bay to finish 3 3/4 lengths clear at the

wire, getting 1 1/16 grassy miles in 1:45 3/5. Trained by Barclay Tagg, the dark bay

notched her fourth stakes win of the season to improve her record to 36-10-10-3,

$481,248.

Winning Move Stable, Island Wind Racing and Celebrity Group Stable's STUNT

MAN (Western Expression) quickly moved to the lead in early stretch and held off

a stubborn Gold and Roses (Gold Token) to annex the $75,000

Thunder Rumble

division. The gelded sophomore completed the seven-furlong main track test in 1:22 2/5

under Javier Castellano to earn his third stakes win of the year, having

previously captured the More Than Ready S. and Albany S. The Gary Contessa trainee

has bankrolled $307,819 from a 17-5-3-3 mark.

Obviously NY Stable's CANADIAN BALLET (City Zip) proved fleetest of

the fillies when taking the $100,000

Fifth Avenue division by a half-length for

Linda Rice. The juvenile miss tracked in third to the head of the stretch before

asserting herself, reaching the wire in 1:11 for six panels beneath Alan Garcia.

The freshman filly, who placed in the Lady Finger S. and New York Breeders'

Futurity in her last pair, upped her record to 4-2-1-1, $148,085.

Gold Square's SPANKY FISCHBEIN (Hook and Ladder) wore down pacesetter Piquante

Cat (Performing Magic) inside the final furlong to take the $98,000

Great White Way division under John Velazquez. The juvenile colt traveled

six furlongs in a swift 1:10 to earn his initial stakes win for trainer Todd

Pletcher. The three-time stakes-placed ridgling has now earned $145,505 from a

5-2-3-0 line.
