Discreet Cat scratched

Last updated: 3/1/07 12:28 PM

Unbeaten DISCREET CAT (Forestry), last seen winning the November 25 Cigar

Mile H. (G1) at Aqueduct, was withdrawn from Thursday's Burj Nahaar (UAE-G3) at

Nad al Sheba and will be trained up to the March 31 Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1),

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said.

"Discreet Cat had a slightly elevated temperature this morning, and sadly he

will not be able to run," Crisford said. "It is disappointing, as we were all

looking forward to seeing him return to action.

"It is not ideal in terms of his World Cup preparation to miss this race. We

will now go to Plan B and try to give him a racecourse gallop to ensure that he

is spot-on for the World Cup."

Out of 1995 Alabama S. (G1) winner Pretty Discreet (Private Account),

Discreet Cat is unbeaten in six career starts. The World Cup will mark his first

attempt beyond nine furlongs, and the Saeed bin Suroor trainee is expected to

meet reigning Horse of the Year Invasor (Arg) (Candy Stripes) in the about 1

1/4-mile test.

Discreet Cat won last year's U.A.E. Derby (UAE-G2), while Invasor finished

fourth in the only loss of his career.
