El Moxie colt tops Inglis' first session
A colt by El Moxie topped Monday's opening session of Inglis' two-day
Autumn Yearling Sale at Oaklands. Purchased by bloodstock agent Robert Roulston
for A$100,000, the bay was consigned by Basinghall Farm.
"Obviously I thought he was the best colt in the sale," said Roulston.
Lot No. 190 is out of the Canoise mare Make the Grade, who is a half-sister
to Oceanfast, the dam of Australian two-year-old champion Alinghi (Aus).
Both average and gross figures climbed from last year's corresponding
session. A total of 134 yearlings sold for A$1,565,000, up from A$1,434,100 last
term, while average increased from A$10,783 in 2005 to A$11,679 this year.
