Grade 2 hero EXPLICIT (Distant View) was represented by his first winner at

stud when his two-year-old son Be Explicit captured the 6TH Race at Remington

Park on Friday evening. Trained by Gary Owens and piloted by Justin Shepherd,

the sophomore colt took the 5 1/2-furlong event in 1:04 4/5, winning by 4 1/2

lengths in his second career outing.

Following a pair of Grade 2 placings in 2001, Explicit made his mark

the following year when taking the Pelleteri Breeders' Cup H. and Count Fleet

Sprint H. (G3) in succession, the latter in a swift 1:08 1/5, and two races

later impressively captured the True North Breeders' Cup H. (G2) at Belmont Park. The dark bay

placed in a total of four graded events over three seasons of racing.

Owned and bred by Marvin Malmuth, Explicit was trained by Ian Jory, amassing a mark of 26-6-4-4 with earnings of

$603,190.

The nine-year-old stallion stands at Crestwood Farm near Lexington, Kentucky, for a fee of $3,000

live foal.
