Poule d'Essai des

Poulains (French Two Thousand Guineas) (Fr-G1) winner FALCO (Pivotal) has likely run

his last race, according to Racing Post. Trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias told the

trade daily that a decision on his future would be made shortly.

"Falco has a

small problem and is not sure to run again," Laffon-Parias told Racing Post. "He

will probably be retired to stud, and a decision will be made this week."

Falco

captured the Poulains on May 11 at Longchamp, defeating Rio de la Plata (Rahy) by three

lengths. Owned and bred by Wertheimer et Frere, the colt was off the board on his last two starts, the June 17 St James's Palace S.

(Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot and the Prix Jean Prat (Fr-G1) at Chantilly on July 13.

Falco has compiled an overall mark of 7-2-2-0, $403,767.

The

bay will stand at Marc de Chambure's Haras d'Etreham when the final decision is

made, with the Wertheimer brothers retaining a 50-percent share.
