Multiple Grade 2 winner FLAME THROWER (Saint Ballado) was represented by his

first winner as a freshman sire on Saturday when his two-year-old son Lord of

the Flame captured the 6TH race at Calder Race Course. The chestnut colt, owned

by TGF Stable LLC and trained by Stephen DiMauro, hesitated at the start,

advanced five wide around the turn, then prevailed by a head at 45-1, winning

the six-furlong test in 1:13 1/5 under Richard Bracho.

At two, Flame Thrower won the Del Mar Futurity (G2), Norfolk S. (G2) and Best

Pal S. (G3). The following year, he finished second in the Riva Ridge S. (G2)

and Maryland Breeders' Cup H. (G3). He earned $458,200 from a record of 7-4-2-0.

The seven-year-old stallion, out of stakes winner Metromane (Metrogrand),

stood the 2005 breeding season for an advertised fee of $6,500 live foal at

Cloverleaf Farms II near Ocala, Florida.
