Grade/Group 1 winner STREET CRY (Ire) (Machiavellian) recorded his first

winner as a sire on Thursday when his two-year-old filly Majestic Roi captured a

six-furlong maiden at Hamilton in England. Sent off as the 4-5 favorite, the

chestnut scored by a half-length beneath jockey Robert Winston, stopping the

teletimer in 1:12 1/5 on good to firm turf. She was bred in Kentucky by

Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds and is currently trained by Mick Channon for owner

Jaber Abdullah.

Street Cry's first North American winner struck in the 4TH race at Woodbine

on Sunday. Woodford Racing's Seaside Links got up by a neck in the shadow of the

wire in the two-year-old maiden special weight event, clocking :53 1/5 for 4 1/2

furlongs on a fast track with Patrick Husbands aboard. Bred by Black Canyon

Thoroughbreds in Ontario, Canada, the chestnut colt is conditioned by Mark Casse.

In three seasons of racing, Street Cry compiled a record of 8-2-5-1 with

$943,675 in earnings. The dark bay enjoyed his most successful campaign for

Godolphin as a four-year-old in 2002, when he won the Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1),

Stephen Foster H. (G1) and the Maktoum Challenge Round 3 (UAE-G2) and placed

second in the Whitney H. (G1). As a three-year-old, after capturing the UAE Two

Thousand Guineas and dropping a narrow decision in the UAE Derby (UAE-G3), he

ranked as a major Kentucky Derby (G1) hopeful until being sidelined by injury.

Trained by Eoin Harty during his juvenile season, Street Cry was a close

runner-up in the Del Mar Futurity (G2) and Norfolk S. (G2) and finished third in

the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1).

Out of 1985 Irish Oaks (Ire-G1) winner Helen Street (GB) (Troy), the

eight-year-old stallion stands at Darley at Jonabell near Lexington, Kentucky, for

a stud fee of $30,000.
