Last updated: 6/22/06 2:10 PM

TEXAS GLITTER (Glitterman) was represented by his first winner as a freshman

sire when his two-year-old daughter Society Heat captured the 1ST race at El

Comandante on Monday. The chestnut lass, out of the winning Jovial Turn mare

Jove's Halo, scampered to the lead out of the gate and won the $11,000 maiden special weight race by three-quarters of a length.

She ran 1 1/2-furlongs in :17 4/5

and paid $3.00 to win as the odds-on, 1-2 favorite.

Texas Glitter, a multiple Grade 3 winner who set or equaled three course

records, won nine black-type events during his racing career, including the

Hollywood Turf Express H. (G3) and Laurel Dash S. (G3) on turf and the

Spectacular Bid S. (G3) on dirt. The bay placed in 11 other stakes races,

including the Hutcheson S. (G2), Swale S. (G3), Nearctic H. (Can-G2) and Sanford

S. (G3). Trained by Todd Pletcher, Texas Glitter retired with a record of 11-9-5 from 36 starts and earned

$826,077.

Texas Glitter, out of the stakes-placed Apalachee mare Come on Texas, is a

half-brother to 2002 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Breeders' Cup H. (G3) winner and

$448,977-earner Mr. John (Golden Gear) and stakes-placed Proper Texan (Proper

Reality).

The 10-year-old stallion stands at Signature Stallions near Reddick,

Florida, for a live foal fee of $4,000.
